Let me start by saying that my imaginary band, "The Fork and Knife," are total hipsters. For the cover, I used an image of mine that lent itself to the text of the band name and album title. I used a bold, easy-to-read, typewriter-eque font (it's actually called American Typewriter) to make the band name stand out immediately, and used a prettier, more elaborate, yet still quite easy to read font for the album title. I created the semi-transparent cloud coming out of the creamer pot to make the album name jump out more while maintaining the low-key vibe of the design. For the back, I used another photo of mine, from the same morning but at the end of breakfast rather than beginning (to go with the front and back/beginning and end parallel). I went with the breakfast thing for song titles, and created the barcode using a font I had on my computer. My record company name came from craving sushi, and I created the logo based on the Mac volume up symbol, replacing the speaker part of the symbol with a sushi symbol I created using simple shapes. Though using part of the Mac volume symbol would not be acceptable in the real world, I figured it would be okay for this project.
